The Ground State Energy of Schrόdinger Operators
We study e(λ) = inf spec ( — A + λV) and examine when e(λ) < 0 for all λ + 0. We prove that cλ ^ e(λ) ^ dλ for suitable V and all small \λ\.
متن کاملGround State Energy of Fractionally Charged Quasiparticles
Considering two dimensional (2-D) electron gas as one component plasma (OCP), for the state at the Landau level filling factor 1/3, Laughlin has found a many body wave function with a lower energy than the single particle energy. We plot the ground state energy of this wave function versus different m (angular momentum) by using the modified hypernetted chain technique. Comparing the plot with ...

متن کاملBounding ground state energy of Hopfield models
In this paper we look at a class of random optimization problems that arise in the forms typically known as Hopfield models. We view two scenarios which we term as the positive Hopfield form and the negative Hopfield form. For both of these scenarios we define the binary optimization problems that essentially emulate what would typically be known as the ground state energy of these models. We t...
متن کاملA Simple Volcano Potential with an Analytic, Zero-Energy, Ground State
We describe a simple volcano potential, which is supersymmetric and has an analytic, zero-energy, ground state. (The KK modes are also analytic.) It is an interior harmonic oscillator potential properly matched to an exterior angular momentumlike tail. Special cases are given to elucidate the physics, which may be intuitively useful in studies of higher-dimensional gravity.
